De achtjarige Maia is het liefst alleen met haar verhalen. Ze leest, speelt games en kijkt films, alles om haar honger naar verhalen te stillen. Verhalen zijn namelijk spannend, maar lopen altijd goed af.

Maia twijfelt of dat in de grotemensenwereld ook gebeurt. Zo groeit haar liefde voor verhalen samen met haar angst voor de ‘echte’ wereld. Naast Maia staat Ótti. Hij is altijd bij haar en wil haar beschermen. Alleen verandert hij de laatste tijd vaak van vorm en begrijpt niet waarom. Hij wordt soms zo zwaar dat hij een blok aan Maia’s been vormt. Als Ótti maar niet zo uit proportie groeit dat hij Maia’s hele blikveld overneemt…

Naast het bezoeken van de voorstelling met poppenspel en film ga je zelf op een spannend avontuur in De Zolderzoektocht. Kom eerder naar het theater en baan je een weg door De Zolderzoektocht en ontdek de wereld zoals Maia die ziet. Vanaf 45 minuten voor aanvang kun je De Zolderzoektocht bezoeken. Je kunt je er stiekem verstoppen onder een veilige tafel en zelf een mooi schaduwspel maken. Of laat je betoveren door spannende beelden terwijl je wegkruipt in heerlijke warme kussens. Een ontdekkingstocht voor iedereen die wel of niet durft, maar wel lekker nieuwsgierig is.

Maia is eight years old and she loves stories. She likes reading, playing games and watching films. Even in exciting or scary stories, everything turns out all right in the end. But Maia is starting to wonder whether stories in the grownup world always end well. The more she reads, the scarier the real world seems. Fortunately, Maia has Ótti at her side – he’s always around to protect her. Lately, though, he’s been getting heavier and bigger… and bigger. How could that be? Let’s hope he doesn’t grow so big Maia can’t see anything else but Ótti!

As well as watching the performance – with puppets, film and more – you can have your very own exciting adventure either before or after the show. Attic Adventures is a wonderous installation where you will experience how Maia sees the world. You can explore the installation from 45 minutes before the play starts or come along afterwards. In Attic Adventures, you’ll find a safe hiding place under a table where you can make your very own beautiful shadow plays, and snuggle up on comfy warm pillows to watch exciting, amazing visuals. Attic Adventures is an adventure for anyone who is brave – or not so brave. Maybe you're just curious…
